MARCH NEWSLETTER

March is a transitional month.  We move from the cold, dark days of winter into the (hopefully) warmer and brighter days of spring.  Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 3, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”  Some seasons of our journey on planet earth are tough, arduous, painful and troublesome.  I may have just described your present season, but rest assured, our Good Shepherd takes us through those valleys to brighter/better experiences.

It will be good to shed the heavy coats of winter for the lighter clothing of spring.  Spiritually, it might be good to shed some things in anticipation of moving into a brighter/better walk with God.  The Apostle Paul said, “Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.”  Paul realized to advance toward the next, he had to shed the disappointments, the anger, the regrets of the season past.

How foolish it would be to continue to wear a coat in short-sleeve weather.  Paul wrote to the saints in Ephesus, “Put off your old self” and “put on the new garments of righteousness and holiness.”  March is a good time to transition into another wardrobe.  Take off the garments of spiritual winter and take out he garments of praise!  Don’t walk around with the weighty garments of anger, resentment, and regret when Jesus paid the price for a lighter and more beautiful outfit that looks great regardless of the season.

Just saying . . . some outfits are just not appropriate for spring.  Let’s put on the garments of praise, renewal, revival, peace, and joy, all paid for and passed down by the Savior.  They looked good on Him and they should be modeled by us for spring!

Spring forward!
