SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

September is known as Harvest month.  It is the season of gathering and celebrating the bountiful crops.  This month Landmark commissions the laborers into the Lord’s fields to gather ripened souls for the Kingdom.

In Matthew 9, Jesus said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few.”  Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest, is still recruiting, calling, and sending forth workers to redeem the harvest.  All of us are called!  All of us are scripturally commissioned to impact our neighborhood, our nation, and everywhere we find a soul in need of a Savior.

I want to thank the many members who filled out a form identifying a desire to serve the Lord at Landmark in the coming church calendar year.  God has been good to raise up workers to advance our vision of bringing people into a dynamic relationship with Christ and others.  The Lord is leading us into a season of blessing and provision.  Those blessings are the results of much prayer sown over the span of almost 2 years.

I am excited to announce that Matt and Lydia Dyer will be joining the leadership team to minister to our Student Ministry.  Matt and Lydia have grown so much in the Lord and bring an enormous amount of energy and enthusiasm.  Matt is a SRO, School Resource Office, at Pinnacle Classical Academy and is loved for his witness on campus.  Lydia grew up in a strong Christian home and home schools their 3 children.  Come meet them on Sunday and get ready for an uptick in teenage faces on our campus!

Coming this fall is an age sensitive men’s ministry entitled Manhood Matters.  This new ministry will focus on the needs of young men in our anti-masculine culture.  Daniel Blanton will be leading this new ministry on Sunday evenings, beginning September 13th.  Daniel is pursuing his doctorate in Strategic Leadership at Liberty University.  This new ministry will strengthen our church and develop young men to lead their family, church, and community.

In closing, what an amazing homegoing service for Jenny Peterson!  Jen’s faith touched so many around her evidenced by the huge crowd honoring her last Sunday.  My heart goes out to Jimmy, Tyler, Carmen, Brinleigh, and the family.  Jenny served her Lord with great faith.
